Golf Finishes Third in Final Tune-Up Before MAAC Championship


FINAL RESULTS
The Canisius golf team posted a team score of 299 and placed third in the N.Y./Pa. Division I Quad Match, held Monday afternoon at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pa. The Golden Griffins finished six strokes behind tournament winner, St. Francis (Pa.) and four strokes back of second-place Mercyhurst.

Senior Ryan Edholm posted a one-over par 73 on the day to earn a tie for third in the field. For Edholm, it marked his fourth top-10 finish on the year, and it served as his second top-five finish this season. Sophomores Mikey Takacs and Alex Schickling tied for seventh in the field, as both player posted a two-over par 74. Freshman Chase Burgess earned a top-20 finish by tying for 19th place after he shot a 78.

The Griffs will close out the 2024-25 season later this week when the team takes part in the 2025 MAAC Golf Championship at Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. That 5-4 hole event is scheduled to tee off on Thursday.
