Three Golfers Tied for 15th After Day One of Carpetbagger Classic

Sophomores Jake Dantonio and Mikey Takacs and senior Ryan Edholm all shot a three-over par score of 75 on Saturday and are tied for 15th in the field after the first round of the 2025 Carpetbagger Classic at Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Md.
 
As a team, Canisius posted a score of 309, which ties the Golden Griffins with Rider and Gettysburg for 11th in the 16-team field. The Griffs are two strokes back of 10th place Le Moyne, and just four strokes back of three teams (Binghamton, Bryant and Colgate) which are tied for sixth-place.
 
Thirteen players, including Dantonio, Takacs and Edholm, are tied for 15th in the field after the first round of play. Dantonio's round featured 12 pars and a pair or birdies, while Takacs filled his scorecard with 13 pars and a birdie-four on the par-5 ninth hole. Edholm, who is competing in his 33rd career collegiate tournament, had three birdies on the day and played the front-nine of the 7,034-yard course one-under par.
 
The second and final round of the 2025 Carpetbagger Classic will tee off on Sunday at 10 a.m.
