Graduate student Alec Cicero notched a goal and two assists while juniors Killian Kiecker-Olson and Grant Porter also found the back of the net for the Golden Griffins (10-20-2, 10-12-2 AHA), who took four-of-six points in the weekend series. Freshman Petter Wickström Stumer got the start between the pipes for Canisius, making 30 saves to earn his second win of the season.

Kellan Hjartarson, Nik Armstrong, Kingkade and Artem Buzoverya scored for the Falcons (17-13-2, 15-8-1 AHA). Connor Hasley finished with 22 saves in goal for Bentley.

Kiecker-Olson opened the scoring just 60 seconds into the contest when he snuck a wrist shot between the legs of Hasley from below the right face-off circle for his third of the campaign.

Porter doubled the Griffs advantage to 2-0 with a power-play goal at the 5:23 mark of the first, collecting a loose puck in the Falcons zone before wiring a shot over the glove of Hasley for his eighth goal of the season.

Hjartarson got the Falcons on the board with 12:54 elapsed in the opening frame, wacking home a loose puck to trim the Canisius lead in half, 2-1.

Armstrong-Kingkad tied the game at 2-2 moments before the midway point of the second period when he beat Wickström Stumer to the blocker side from the right face-off circle.

Haskins restored the Griffs lead with six minutes to play in the second, firing a wrist shot past the glove of Hasley to put Canisius back in front, 3-2.

Haskins doubled the Canisius advantage to 4-2 on the power play with less than four minutes to play in the third, depositing a loose puck past the glove of Hasley from the middle of the slot.

Cicero stretched the Griffs cushion to 5-2 with an empty-net tally just 61 seconds after Haskins power-play strike while Buzoverya closed out the scoring with a power-play goal in the final minute of regulation for the Falcons to determine the two-goal final margin.

HEAD COACH TREVOR LARGE'S POSTGAME COMMENTS
"It was a well-earned victory. Recently we haven't been able to celebrate after games, although we've had some good efforts and some good outings, so it feels uplifting to earn a victory tonight. We were much better tonight in terms of some critical areas, and it helped us win a hockey game. Petter Wickström Stumer was fantastic again in goal and we were better at getting around the net tonight. It got us some production and got us some goals.

"It's early recognition that that you're playing well. It's a great play by KO (Killian Kiecker-Olson) to get us on the board. We've been talking with our guys about getting around the net more and creating chaos for the opponent. I haven't liked our shot selection of late, so we emphasized that we were going to get after the opponent and get it around their blue paint early and it paid off today. The second one by (Grant) Porter is a nice power-play goal. Our power play has been doing well all season, so it's nice to see that continue as well.

"We're fully capable of beating anybody. That's the lesson I want them to understand. If we play the way we're supposed to, we can beat anybody in the country. I'm not afraid to say those things. I believe in them. I believe that when our roster is committed to how we're trying to play, we have the skating and ability to play against anyone. When our compete is at the highest level, that's when we're the most dangerous."
