Cross Country Competes at the Paul Short Run

Senior Kyle Urban and sophomore Clara Sundberg paced the Canisius men's and women's cross country teams in the Paul Short Run presented by ASICS, Friday at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa.

Racing in the gold division 8k event, Urban turned in a time of 24:37.8, placing 117th. Freshman Nathaniel Fisher (25:17.7/212th) and junior Brody Jones (25:54.0/280th) rounded out the top three male runners for the Golden Griffins.

Canisius finished in 38th place with a team total of 1,063 points. Georgetown took first place in the men's race with a team total of 102 points. Utah State (123) took second and Texas A&M (137) rounded out the top three.

In the women's brown division 6k race, Sundberg paced the Griffs with a 157th-place finish, with a time of 23:15.2. Freshman Julia Gullo (23:28.0/174th) and junior Brooke Podgorski (23:56.5/221st) completed the top three female runners for the Griffs.

Canisius finished in 35th place with a team total of 962 points. George Washington finished in first place with 99 points. Iona (155) took second, and Binghamton (178) finished third.
