Cross Country Takes Part in Shortened Paul Short Run

The Canisius men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Open Division races at the 52nd Paul Short Run presented by ASICS, Friday afternoon at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa.

On the men's side, freshman Colin Jennings (29:11.9/416th) paced the Griffs in the men's open 8K event. Fellow freshman Tim Oliver (30:01.3/479th) marked the other finisher for Canisius.

On the women's side, freshman Bridie Maher (27:13.2/324th) paced the Golden Griffin women in the women's open 6K race. Freshman Jocelyn Gustavson (27:46.0/345th) and sophomore Jocelyn Tracy (28:55.5/365th) rounded out the top three Griffs finishers.

Elevated heat conditions and rapidly rising temperatures forced the cancellation of the final six races at the Paul Short Run, presented by ASICS, on Friday afternoon. The Griffs were scheduled to compete in the Brown Division races. The decision was made following consultation between on-site medical personnel and Lehigh Athletic Department administrators to prioritize the safety and well-being of all student-athletes and participants. Temperatures were in the high 80s.
