Canisius Places 261 on 2023-24 MAAC Academic Honor Roll

The Canisius athletic department had a total of 261 student-athletes recognized as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its Academic Honor Roll for the 2023-24 season on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Academic Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 24 conference-sponsored sports are represented.

Men's lacrosse led all Canisius programs with 33 selections, while women's lacrosse placed second with 29 honorees. Baseball was third with 25 student-athletes honored and softball placed fourth with 20 of its student-athletes recognized.

Marist named 334 student-athletes to the Academic Honor Roll, leading the MAAC for the 23rd consecutive year. Quinnipiac was second with 277 student-athletes on the list, followed by Fairfield in third with 274 recipients. Iona (266 honorees) and Mount St. Mary's (264 honorees) rounded out the top-five.
