Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Falls at No. 10/9 Arizona

Preseason First-Team All-American Caleb Love had 17 points and six assists, while Jaden Bradley chipped in 15 points, four boards and four steals to help lead the No. 10/9 Arizona Wildcats to a 93-64 win over Canisius in non-conference men's basketball action Monday night at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz.

Canisius junior Paul McMillan IV scored a game-high 20 points and sophomore Dylan Godfrey was good for 13 points for the Golden Griffins (0-1), who opened the season against a team ranked in the AP Top-25 poll for the third time in school history and for the first time since 2016-17. Senior Tana Kopa scored 11 points and redshirt-sophomore Cam Palesse posted seven points off the bench, as the Griffs ended the game by shooting 43.1 percent from the field, 38.5 percent (10-for-26) from 3-point land and 76.9 percent (10-for-13) from the free-throw line.

Arizona (1-0) jumped out to an early lead, scoring the game's first 13 points, and never looked back. Junior Gianni Thompson scored the Griffs' lone bucket in Arizona's 20-2 run to open the game, and the Wildcats took a 52-30 lead into the locker room at the halftime break after the home team shot 45.7 percent from the floor, with seven of the team's 13 first-half field goals coming from 3-point land.

Canisius struggled with Arizona's size in the front court, as the Wildcats out-rebounded the Griffs 43-25, including a 17-5 advantage on the offensive glass. Arizona closed out the night with 19 second-chance points, while outscoring the Blue and Gold 48-12 in the paint.
