• On the Water
The rowing team heads to Saratoga Springs to race in the 2023 MAAC Championships on May 12. Racing from Fish Creek is set to start at 10 a.m. This is the first time that the MAAC Championships will be held at Fish Creek.
 
• Last Year at the MAAC Championships
Last year at the MAAC Championships, the second varsity eight finished fifth in the Grand Final, finishing with a time of 7:27.380. The 2V8 shell was the only boat from Canisius to make a Grand Final.
 
• Being the Best
Under Brace, ten different Griffs have been named to the All-MAAC First or Second Team. Most recently, Olivia Merolle and Destiny Severn were All-MAAC Second Team honorees last season. Under head coach Kerri Brace, the Blue and Gold have finished third at the MAAC Championships twice (2017 & 2018).
 
• Weekly Sweep
Canisius was honored with three MAAC Weekly Awards as they took home the 1V8, 2V8 and 1V4 Boat of the Week honors for April 30. The 1V8 came in first with a time of 7:45.1 while the Griffs 2V8 shell also earned a first-place finish with a time of 7:46.9. The Blue and Gold's varsity four boat picked up their first win of the spring season, wrapping up their heat with a time of 8:51.1.
 
• Academic Excellence
Canisius placed 12 students on the MAAC All-Academic Team the league office announced Thursday. Jaime Bennett, Eliza Hanson, Hannah Kenefick, Emma Maturo, Olivia Merolle, Macey Schneider. Kaleigh Schwab, Destiny Severn, Brianna Shaw, Brianna Sorrentino, Brooke Urmson and Skylar Vles were the 12 Griffs earning the honor.
