Canisius Wins Varsity 8 at Yinzer Cup

The Canisius rowing team opened its fall season with a first-place finish in all three events in the Yinzer Cup, racing in a field against Toledo, Mercyhurst and host Robert Morris Saturday morning at McPhail Boathouse in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Golden Griffins Varsity 8 shell won by 29.6 seconds, clocking a 15:33.1 finish. The 2V8 and 3V8 shell also clocked first place finishes in each race with times of 16:13.4 and 17:22.2, respectively.

The Golden Griffins return to action next weekend in their final race of the fall season as they compete in the 55^th annual Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pa.
