Appenheimer Posts Top-10 Finish at Penn Relays

Senior Tom Appenheimer posted a 10th-place finish in the men's 10,000-meter race to highlight Canisius' participation in the 2023 Penn Relays Thursday at Benjamin Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

Appenheimer recorded a time of 30:18.42 during the men's 10,000-meter championship race, putting him just 10 seconds back of ninth-place finisher Jonathan Thursh of California (Pa.).

Graduate student Michael Peppy and senior Olivia Moran also competed on Thursday, taking part in the men's and women's 5,000-meter races.

Peppy finished in 67th place in the men's race (14:52.30) while Moran claimed 44th place in the women's event (16.50:68).

The Canisius men's and women's outdoor track teams will compete in the 2023 MAAC Outdoor Track Championships, scheduled for May 6-7 at the Morgan Track on the campus of Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md.
