Kent State Takes Series Finale Over Baseball Monday

Kent State's Aidan Longwell went 3-5 with four runs batted in en route to an 11-2 win over Canisius Monday afternoon in collegiate baseball action from the Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium in Kent, Ohio.

The Golden Flashes secured the series sweep after defeating the Golden Griffins twice on Friday.

The host team grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a bases loaded walk before putting up a three-spot in the second on three straight one-out hits.

Kent State furthered its advantage in the fourth when Mack Timbrook led off the frame with a solo shot, giving the Golden Flashes a 5-0 lead.

Junior Cole Sebastian put Canisius open the board two innings later, serving the first pitch he saw over the left field fence for his second home run of the season.

Kent State responded in the home half with its second three-run inning, highlighted by Longwell's two-run double to put his team up 8-1.

The Golden Flashes plated their last three runs in the seventh, their third three-run inning of the game.

The Griffs plated another run in the eighth after pinch hitter JT Ennen reached base via a hit by pitch. Following a passed ball and wild pitch, Ennen made his way to third while graduate Dylan Vincent was at the dish. On the very next pitch, Vincent sent the ball up the middle to score Ennen.
