Indoor Track Concludes Appearance at YSU Mid-Major Saturday

Graduate student Michael Peppy posted a pair of top-10 finishes to lead the Canisius men's and women's indoor track teams during the final day of competition in the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational Saturday at the Watson and Tressel Training Site in Youngstown, Ohio.

Peppy placed eighth in the men's 3,000-meter run (8:39.57) while also claiming 10th place in the men's one-mile race (4:19.17). Senior Tom Appenheimer gave the Griffs a second top-15 finish in the one-mile as he took 14th place, crossing the line at 4:24.35.

For the Canisius women, freshman Jacqueline Appenheimer placed sixth in the women's one-mile race, posting a time of 5:16.94.

Senior Olivia Moran took home 10th place in the women's 800-meter race, crossing the finish line in 2:22.94.

In the 400-meter dash, junior Maura Jordan crossed the line in 10th place, finishing in 1:00.39.

Canisius closes out the regular-season portion of its indoor schedule when it competes in the RIT Friday Invitational on Feb. 10. Start time for the meet is slated for 4 p.m. at the Gordon Field House.
