The Canisius volleyball team will face Buffalo at 7 p.m. at the Koessler Athletic Center in the first match of the 2022 Western New York Invitational and first home match of the season. The match will air live on ESPN+.

The Golden Griffins match against Buffalo will serve as the home debut for first-year head coach Tom Hanna. Last weekend, the Griffs went 0-3 at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational, losing to hosts Duquesne and Robert Morris, along with William & Mary.

Freshman setter Ella Bourque continued her strong start to the season, racking up 101 total assists at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational to bring her season total to 215. Her impressive performances in the Steel City earned her MAAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. Her 215 total assists and 8.96 assists per set are both top in the MAAC. Nationally, she ranks among the top-ten freshmen in total assists.

After today's match, the Griffs are back in action Friday at 4 p.m. when they take on Youngstown State in the second match of the 2022 Western New York Invitational.
