The Canisius volleyball team head north take on Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara in the team's second weekend of MAAC play. This will be the 109th all-time meeting between the two foes with the Golden Griffins holding a 56-51-2 series lead. The volleyball team is also the first Canisius program in the 2022-23 season to take on Niagara.

Last weekend was a record-breaking one for the Griffs with senior libero Bree Long and sophomore outside hitter Taylor Baldwin each writing their names in the record book. Long officially moved into third place for career digs with 1,553 after posting 17 digs against Quinnipiac. As for Baldwin, she racked up 29 kills against the Bobcats, breaking the previous program record for kills in a five-set match which was 28. As for the team as a whole, the Griffs split the weekend, falling to Fairfield, 3-0, before defeating Quinnipiac, 3-2.

Baldwin's record-breaking weekend earned her the Molten Volleyball MAAC Player of the Week award on Tuesday. She posted 44 total kills with an average of 5.50 kill-per-set, one service ace, six total blocks, and 13 digs over both matches.

Canisius is back in action tomorrow at noon when they return to home to face Niagara in the return fixture.
