The Canisius volleyball team heads back on the road to compete in the Duquesne/Robert Morris invitational. The Golden Griffins will take on Duquesne at 11 a.m. and Robert Morris at 6 p.m. Both matches will air live on ESPN+.
 
The Griffs had a successful opening weekend in the Hoosier State, going 2-1 at the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational by defeating Western Illinois and hosts Purdue Fort Wayne. History was made as senior Bree Long had 52 digs during the invitational, which was enough to move her into sole possession of fourth all-time for digs in program history with 1,412.
 
Freshman Ella Bourque was also tabbed MAAC Rookie of the Week after her impressive weekend. The Yorkville, Ill. native posted 114 assists with an 8.77 assist per set average. She posted a weekend best 53 against Western Illinois, just 11 off the program record for assists in a five-game match during her third ever collegiate contest.
 
Canisius is 2-6 all-time vs Duquesne and 9-9 against Robert Morris. The Griffs last faced the Dukes in 2021 and the Colonials in 2017.
 
The Blue & Gold will be back in action on Saturday at 12 p.m. to take on William & Mary in their final match of the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational.
