The Canisius women's soccer team welcomes regional rival Cornell to the Demske Sports Complex Friday for a 7 p.m. matchup. The game will air live on ESPN+.
 
The Golden Griffins (0-0-1) opened the season with a 1-1 draw at home against St. Francis Brooklyn on Aug. 18. Junior forward Tiani Fonoti scored the lone goal for Canisius in the 80th minute while sophomore keeper Jordan Spencer made four saves between the pipes for the Blue & Gold.
 
Friday's contest serves as the seventh meeting between the two Empire State foes. Last season, the Big Red posted a 2-0 victory over the Griffs at Berman Field in Ithaca, N.Y.
 
Canisius is back in action Sunday when it travels to Detroit Mercy for a noon contest at Titan Field. The game will air live on ESPN+.
