Buck Tabbed USILA Scholar All-American

Canisius senior attackman Jacob Buck has been named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-American, the organization announced.

A native of Rochester, Buck is the fifth Golden Griffin to receive the prestigious honor, joining former teammates Mario Caito (2019) and Michael Sanzone (2019), as well as former standouts Jeff Edwards (2017) and Connor Kearnan (2018) on the exclusive list.

In order to be considered a USILA Scholar All-American, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. They must also be a significant contributor to their team, both on and off the field.

A Second-Team All-MAAC selection, Buck started all 14 games for Canisius this season, pacing the squad in assists (12) while ranking second in both goals (23) and points (35). He recorded three hat tricks and tallied four or more points in five contests, highlighted by a four-goal, two-assist effort in the regular-season finale at St. Bonaventure on April 30.

Buck, the 2021 All-MAAC First Team selection and 2019 MAAC Rookie of the Year pick, finished his career 14th on the program's all-time scoring list, racking up 127 points (76g, 51a) in 45 career games played.

In the classroom, Buck graduated from Canisius in May with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He was a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree.
