The top varsity eight earned a pair of first-place finishes, clocking a 7:20.7 time in the morning before improving on that time by 10.4 seconds in the afternoon (7:10.3). Canisius finished eight seconds ahead of Robert Morris in both races.

Canisius' second varsity eight opened the day with a 7:57.2 time in the morning, besting the Colonials by 26.9 seconds. The shell finished 13 seconds faster in the afternoon session, finishing the course in 7:44.2, which was 39 seconds better than Robert Morris.

The Griffs' lone varsity four shell finished second in the morning session, crossing the line 17 seconds behind D'Youville and nearly 90 seconds ahead of Robert Morris. In the afternoon, the boat earned a first-place finish (9:16.2), nearly five minutes ahead of Robert Morris.

Canisius returns to the water Sunday when the Griffs participate in a tri-meet against Pittsburgh-based schools Robert Morris and Duquesne in Moon Township, Pa. The first event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
