McArthur Named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Canisius senior Skylar McArthur has been named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced on Monday.

McArthur paced the Golden Griffins offensively in a two-game week against Marist and Fairfield. The Peterborough, Ontario, native tallied 10 goals and added nine draw controls and a ground ball between the two contests.

In an 11-10 overtime win over Marist, McArthur netted five goals, including the game-tying and game-winning tallies, and registered three draw controls to help lift the Griffs over the Red Foxes and improve to 5-2 in MAAC play.

In Saturday's defeat at Fairfield, the senior found the back of the net five times and picked up one ground ball and six draw controls to lead the Griffs in scoring.

McArthur finished the regular season with 11 multi-goal games, including six contests with five or more tallies. She currently paces Canisius with 46 goals in the 2022 campaign.

Canisius, the No. 5 seed in the MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championships, will travel to Fairfield, Conn., this Saturday for a rematch with the No. 4 seed, Fairfield. Game time and streaming information to follow.
