GAME RECAP
The Mountaineers opened the scoring in the second inning as the first four batters of the frame all reached on singles. Dayne Leonard had an RBI single after a two-run single by Mikey Kluska, putting West Virginia in front, 3-0, before adding the final run in the third on a sacrifice fly by Scott II.

Three consecutive extra-base hits with two outs in the top of the third trimmed the Mountaineer lead to 4-3. Chiarenza started the rally with an RBI double, plating Max Grant, who was hit by a pitch to open the inning. Gibson Krzeminski hit an RBI double to score Dylan Vincent, who tripled Chiarenza home.

West Virginia then scored 13 unanswered runs over three innings to solidify the victory.

Freshman Justin Guiliano was the losing pitcher for the Griffs in his first collegiate start. He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and three runs.

Michael Kilker was the winning pitcher for West Virginia after pitching two innings of relief for starter Zach Bravo, who allowed four hits and three runs in four innings of work.
