Varsity 4, Novice 4 Score Wins at Head of Niagara

The Canisius rowing team closed out a busy weekend by competing in the Head of the Niagara Sunday at the West Side Rowing Club in Buffalo.

Because of high-winds, the Varsity 8 and the Novice 8 events were not held.

The Varsity 4 "A" boat scored a win in its race with a time of 13:48.56. Sophomore Macey Schneider served as the coxswain of that boat, where she was joined by sophomore Hannah Kenefick, junior Destiny Severn, sophomore Emma Maturo and junior Olivia Merolle. D'Youville's Varsity 4 boat took second, while the Golden Griffins' "B" entry in the race placed third.

In the Novice 4 race, Canisius defeated D'Youville with a time of 15:31.70, which was 1:18 faster than the Saints' boat.
