Novice 8 Earns Second Consecutive First-Place Finish at Yinzer Cup

The Canisius rowing team competed in their second event of the season at the Yinzer Cup. The Golden Griffins Novice 8 squad finished in first in their second consecutive race.

The boat, comprised of Gianna Perugini, Addie Naylor, Victoria Fitzgerald, Kaleigh Schwab, Alice Schmidt, Sophie Hartzell, Emma Giuga, Brooke Urmson, and Julie Ducatio finished with a time of 8:19.9, three full minutes ahead of second place Robert Morris.

The varsity 8 boat for the Griffs came in third place with a time of 15:54.7. Duquesne "A" boat took first with a time of 15:28.7 with their "B" boat coming in second place with a time of 15:40.0. The Varsity 4 boat took second in their race with a time of 9:19.0 with Robert Morris claiming first with a time of 8:54.4.

Race Notes:

The 8:19.9 time posted by the novice eight boat is the fastest time any Canisius boat has posted this fall.
This is the third straight fall season the Griffs have raced in the Yinzer Cup
