The Canisius women's soccer team looks to continue its stellar play at home as it welcomes league co-leader Fairfield to the Demske Sports Complex Saturday for a 1 p.m. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest.

Heading into the final three games of league play, the Golden Griffins find themselves in fourth place in the MAAC standings, three points ahead of fifth-place Iona, who has a game in hand on Canisius. The top six team make the MAAC Women's Soccer Championship, which begins with a pair of first-round contests on Oct. 30.

In their last outing, the Griffs extended both their unbeaten and shutout streaks with a 0-0 tie at Iona. Unbeaten in its last five contests, Canisius also established a program mark for longest consecutive shutout streak during its matchup with the Gaels. The Griffs have not allowed a goal against in the last 527:32 of game action, dating back to the first half of their contest against Quinnipiac on Sept. 24.

Junior keeper Jessica Jones continued her stellar play between the pipes for Canisius, making four saves on Wednesday to post her fourth consecutive shutout. She is just the second Canisius keeper in program history to post four-straight clean sheets, joining former Griffs goalie Lesley Ivinac (2010) on that exclusive list.

Canisius has been stellar at home this season as they are 4-1-1 when defending its home turf. The Griffs have allowed just four goals against in their six home games, with no opponent finding the back of the net more than once. The lone home loss of the campaign for Canisius came in a 1-0 setback to league co-leader Quinnipiac back on Sept. 24.

The Griffs closes out the home portion of their regular-season schedule Oct. 19 when they welcome Marist to the Demske Sports Complex. Opening kickoff for the league contest between the Griffs and Red Foxes is slated for 4 p.m.
