The Canisius women's soccer team returns to the road Wednesday with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup against Iona. Opening kickoff for the contest between the Griffs and Gaels is set for noon at Mazzella Field in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Canisius heads into Wednesday's contest against Iona looking to extend an unbeaten streak that stands at four games after the Griffs posted a 3-0 victory over Saint Peter's last Saturday at the Demske Sports Complex.

Sophomore Emma Oliphant had a hand in all three Canisius goals in the victory against the Peacocks, netting the Griffs' first and third tallies of the game while recording the primary assist on junior Tiani Fonoti's insurance marker.

Junior keeper Jessica Jones kept up her stellar play of late as well, stopping all three shots she faced to extended her active shutout streak to 350 minutes.

For their efforts, both Oliphant and Jones were recognized by the MAAC on Monday at Oliphnt was named the league's offensive player of the week while Jones took home defensive player of the week accolades.

Following Wednesday's matinee, Canisius turns its focus to league co-leader Fairfield as the teams will square off on Saturday in a 1 p.m. contest at the Demske Sports Complex.
