FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Griffs take on the Big Red
The Canisius women's soccer team will continue its road swing on Friday when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y., for a non-conference match at Cornell. Game time at Berman Field is set for 5 p.m.

2. Last Time Out
The Golden Griffins fell at Cleveland State last Sunday. Canisius' first score of the contest came in the 64th minute from sophomore Tiani Fonoti. Junior Jen Romero netted her first goal of the season in the 77th minute on a penalty kick for the Griffs second, and final goal. Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Spencer made two saves on four shot attempts in relief of her sophomore counterpart, Jessica Jones.

3. First Collegiate Game for Spencer
Spencer made her collegiate debut on Sunday, playing the final 61 minutes of the contest. The freshman goalkeeper made a pair of saves in the loss.

4. Series History
Friday's game will be the sixth meeting between Canisius and Cornell. The Big Red have come out victorious in four of the five previous matches. In their last meeting on Sept. 8, 2006, the Blue and Gold recorded a clean sheet with a 2-0 win.

5. Canisius Travels to Brooklyn
The Griffs continue their five-game road swing Sunday, when they face St. Francis Brooklyn for the first time in program history. Kickoff at Brooklyn Bridge Park-Pier 5 is set for 10 a.m.
