Kara Paradowski Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

Canisius senior Kara Paradowski has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Great Lakes Region Third-Team, the NFCA office announced today. In all, 380 student-athletes from 154 programs received 2021 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all student-athletes now become eligible for the 2021 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

Paradowski, who was named to the 2021 All-MAAC First Team, led Canisius in six offensive categories, including batting average (.374), hits (46), runs scored (31), at-bats (123), triples (2) and stolen bases (40). Her 40 steals on the year, which tied the program's single-season record, currently ranks her fourth nationally. On May 2, the Lancaster, N.Y., native became just the second player in Canisius history and the fifth player in MAAC history to swipe 100-plus career bases.

Paradowski is one of seven players from a MAAC school to earn NFCA All-Region honors this year. She is the first Golden Griffin to be honored to an NFCA All-Region Team since former Griff Lauren Castro received the award after the 2017 season.
