Five Things to Know

1. Patiently Waiting
The Blue & Gold's last outing was March 11, 2020, when they defeated Little Three Foe St. Bonaventure, 17-7. The pandemic-forcing hiatus between that victory and the opening-leg of the back-to-back against the Saints will be 361 days.

2. Conference Clash
The 2021 schedule will look a bit different this season as the Golden Griffins will play a conference-only schedule within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Canisius played their last MAAC regular-season game on April 20, 2019, when they traveled to Fairfield.

3. Series History
The Griffs lead the all-time series against the Saints, 16-8. Saturday when the Blue & Gold travel to Siena will be the first regular-season contest the Griffs have played in Loudonville since April 8, 2018. Canisius defeated the Saints by a 15-10 margin in that contest.

4. Year Four Under Daley
Canisius head coach Allison Daley enters year four at the helm of the Blue & Gold. In four seasons, the 2011 graduate of the college has a 15-29 overall record and 8-8 conference mark.

5. Preseason Pick
Senior defender Riley Lucarelli was chosen as a 2021 Preseason All-MAAC selection, the league announced on March 3. A native of Lancaster, N.Y., Lucarelli was named an All-MAAC Second Team choice in 2019.
