FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Opening Tip
The Canisius women's basketball team plays its final home game of the calendar year Tuesday when it hosts Manhattan. Tip off between the Jaspers and Golden Griffins in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest is set for 1 p.m.

2. Series History
Tuesday will mark the 67th all-time meeting between the two MAAC rivals. Canisius holds the advantage in the series, 35-31.

The Griffs are 22-9 all-time against the Jaspers at the Koessler Athletic Center, winning four of the last six and 14 of the last 19 home games.

Despite having success at home, the Griffs have lost 14 of their last 22 games to Manhattan since 2010-11.

3. Good to See You
Canisius first-year head coach Sahar Nusseibeh will be coaching against her former colleague, Manhattan head coach Heather Vulin.

Nusseibeh was on Vulin's coaching staff for three seasons at Manhattan (2016-19), serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Graduate student Ella Väätänen is also have a reunion of her own today as she will be facing fellow countrymate Sini Mäkelä.

Väätänen and Mäkelä were both on the Finland's National Team at the 2013 European Under-16 and 2015 European Under-18 Championships.

4. No Need for Extra Time
The last 49 games Canisius has played have not needed overtime. It is tied for the longest streak without an overtime game since also playing 49 straight non-overtime games spanning the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. Canisius has not played an overtime game since Feb. 22, 2019, losing to Siena at home, 78-66.

Should Tuesday's game not go to overtime, it would be the longest streak since a 66-game streak between the final five games of the 2008-09 season, the entire 2009-10 season and the first 30 games of the 2010-11 season.

5. Automatic from the Charity Stripe
Sophomore guard Dani Haskell has made 30 of her 34 free throw attempts this season. Haskell has also made her last 22 attempts from the free-throw line. Her .882 free throw percentage leads the MAAC and is 31st amongst Division I players.

Over her 15 collegiate appearances, Haskell has missed just five career free throw attempts (46-of-51 — .902).
