FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Setting the Pitch
The Canisius women's soccer team hosts Monmouth for a Saturday afternoon match. Game time from the Demske Sports Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m. Prior to the contest, the team will honor its senior class in a pregame ceremony.

2. New Fan Attendance Policy
On Sept. 30, the Canisius College athletic department announced it had updated its COVID-19 fan attendance policy, which requires all fans, aged 12 and older, to provide proof of vaccination to be admitted to any Canisius intercollegiate athletic event. Acceptable proofs of vaccination include a vaccination card, New York State Excelsior Pass, CLEAR Digital Vaccine Card, a Canadian Vaccination Receipt or a digital vaccine verification card issued by a state other than New York. Photos of vaccine cards, per Canisius rules, will NOT be accepted.

The policy, which began Oct. 4, includes all home events at the Demske Sports Complex, Koessler Athletic Center, ECC Burt Flickinger Center pool and LECOM HarborCenter. Fans must provide that they have at least one dose of the vaccine to be allowed to attend an event on campus. Beginning Oct. 29, all spectators must prove that they have completed their vaccination series and are at least two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series or their first dose in a single-dose vaccine. No exceptions will be granted following the Oct. 29 deadline.

Canisius College is consistently monitoring county, state and national COVID-19 mandates and policies. These policies are subject to change.

3. Last Time Out
Quinnipiac scored three times in an eight minute span in the first half to defeat Canisius, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon from the Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden, Conn. Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Spencer made eight saves in the loss for the Griffs.
