Men’s Basketball Returns Home For Busy Weekend at the KAC

The Canisius men's basketball team will return home to the Koessler Athletic Center this weekend to host a pair of games against MAAC rivals Siena and Rider, and there will be plenty of promotions and activities for fans to experience and enjoy.

The Golden Griffins are coming off a two-game road swing through the state of New Jersey last weekend, where the Blue and Gold went 1-1 at Monmouth and Saint Peter's. The win on Sunday at Saint Peter's marked head coach Reggie Witherspoon's 60th career victory at Canisius, making him the 11th head coach in program history to reach that milestone.

On Friday, the Griffs will close out their season-series against Siena on Anderson's Ice Cream Night. All fans in attendance will receive free ice cream postgame, courtesy of Anderson's. Siena defeated Canisius 73-72 back on Dec. 23 in Albany, N.Y., in the first MAAC game of the year for both squads.

On Sunday, Canisius will host Alumni Day & Family at the Koessler Athletic Center as the Blue and Gold meet Rider for the first time this season. The doors to the KAC will open at 12:45 p.m., and there will be games and inflatables in the Patrick Lee Gymnasium before the game and at halftime for kids, and beer and wine in the Griffins' Den for $3 for adults and Canisius students 21-and-over.
