Perry Earns MAAC Rookie of the Week Honors

Coming off a week that saw the Golden Griffins extend their win streak to four games, the longest streak since the 2010 campaign, Canisius freshman Lexi Perry was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

The Victor, N.Y., native scored the first goal of her collegiate career, which served as the game winner, as the Griffs defeated Delaware State, 1-0, on Sept. 18. In 8 games the season, Perry has attempted 14 shots and is averaging 46 minutes a game.

Canisius opened their conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to Quinnipiac on Saturday. The Blue and Gold return to play on Sept. 28 when they travel to Riverdale, N.Y., to take on Manhattan. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
