Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Defeated by St. Bonaventure in Tuesday Tilt

St. Bonaventure used goals from three different players and a three-save effort keeper Trevor Wilson to defeat visiting Canisius, 3-0, in collegiate men's soccer action Tuesday at the Marra Athletics Complex in Olean, N.Y.

Issac Boamah, Jacob Dyck and Fredrik Hansen all found the back of the net for the host Bonnies (2-3-0) while Dyck added an assist as well. Junior Tom Crosbie made four saves in goal for the Golden Griffins (1-4-0).

Senior Troy Brady nearly put Canisius in front in the 36th minute, but his shot from just outside the 18-yard box hit the bottom of the crossbar and remained in play.

Boamah staked St. Bonaventure to a 1-0 lead just 65 seconds before the end of the first half as he collected the ball on the left side of the box and raced towards the goal before sneaking the ball past Canisius keeper Tom Crosbie and inside the left post.

The Bonnies nearly doubled their lead in the 50th minute when a shot from Dyck at the top of the box was partially stopped by a charging Crosbie, but kept rolling towards the vacated goal before sophomore Matthew Spangler was able to clear the ball off the line to end the threat.

Freshman Tyler Lewandowski nearly got Canisius on the board moments after Dyck's near miss, but his shot found the left post and stayed out.

Dyck increased the St. Bonaventure lead to 2-0 at the 79:23 mark, putting home a loose ball from the middle of the box for his first of the campaign.

Hanson closed out the scoring with 90 remaining, using a through ball from Callum Beattie to get behind the Griffs defense before beating Crosbie with shot just inside the right post.
