Men’s Lacrosse Home Finale Versus Marist Flexed to ESPNU

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and ESPN announced Friday that the Canisius men's lacrosse home game versus Marist, scheduled for Friday, April 26, has been flexed as part of the league's Wild Card Game agreement with the network.

The matchup between the Golden Griffins and the Marist will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m.

Canisius (7-5, 3-1 MAAC) and Marist (5-5, 3-1 MAAC) are part of a three-way tie for second in the MAAC with Quinnipiac University at 3-1, which is a half-game behind first-place Detroit Mercy at 4-1.

The Griffs won the MAAC Title in 2018 with a 10-9 overtime win over Detroit Mercy. Marist will host this season's MAAC Championship, which will be May 2 & 4 at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Marist has surrendered the second-fewest goals (102) in the MAAC this season while Canisius has scored the second-most (134). Senior Brad Nordstrom sits second in the MAAC in save percentage at .549. Marist's Jake MacGregor is right behind with a .548 save percentage.

A total of 14 MAAC men's lacrosse games have been or will air on ESPNU, ESPN3, or ESPN+ - the multi-sport, direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company's Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment and ESPN - this season.

Games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN App, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets, and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

Canisius returns to action Saturday with a Noon contest versus league-leading Detroit Mercy at Titan Field in Detroit, Mich.
