Five Things to Know Before Men's Lacrosse Closes Out Non-Conference Play Tuesday at Cleveland State

1) On the Road Again
• Tuesday's matchup serves as game two of a stretch that will see Canisius play five of its final seven regular-season contests on the road. The Griffs opened the road swing on a high note with a 12-2 victory at Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Monmouth on March 30.

2) Non-Conference Finale
• Tuesday's game against Cleveland State serves as the final non-conference game of the regular season for Canisius. The Golden Griffins have compiled a 4-3 ledger against non-league opponents thus far this season, highlighted by victories against regional rivals Robert Morris on March 9 (12-8) and Colgate on March 16 (8-6).

3) Griffs Looking to Remain Undefeated Against the Vikings
• Tuesday's matchup serves as the third meeting between Canisius and relative newcomer Cleveland State, who began playing Division I lacrosse in 2017. The Griffs have won the previous two meetings between the programs, recording a 17-7 victory in their inaugural matchup at the Krenzler Dome in 2017 before rallying for a 12-11 triumph at the Demske Sports Complex last March. Both previous contests between Canisius and Cleveland State took place on March 4 of that season.

4) Getting Defensive
• Canisius has held each of its last four opponents to single-digit goals, its longest such stretch since a five-game span during the 2010 campaign. The Griffs, who have allowed just 25 goals in those four contests (6.2 GAA), surrendered its fewest goals against in more than 10 seasons with its 12-2 victory at MAAC rival Monmouth on March 30, matching its goals against total from an 11-2 victory over Manhattan in the semifinals of the 2008 MAAC Championship.

5) Nordstrom Named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
• Senior goalie Brad Nordstrom was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday. The Phoenix, Ariz., native made 13 saves in Canisius' 12-2 victory at Monmouth on March 30. Entering the final month of the regular season, Nordstrom ranks ninth nationally in saves per game (13.44) and is 13th among all Division I goalies with a .568 save percentage.
