Five Things to Know - Women's Lacrosse Hosts Siena Wednesday Afternoon

1.    The Saints Come Marching In
• Siena arrives on Main Street with a 5-4 overall record and 1-0 mark in conference play as the Saints defeated Iona Saturday afternoon by a final score of 17-7. Wednesday afternoon's contest will be the 22nd meeting all-time between Canisius and Siena, with the Golden Griffins holding a 15-6 advantage. The Blue and Gold are 7-2 at home against the Saints.
 
2.    Reininger Returns
• Graduate Jen Reininger returned to the field in the Griffs road contest with Manhattan after missing the previous five games with an injury. In her return, Reininger scored twice on five shot attempts while assisting on freshman Megan Hoffman's goal in the first half. Reininger has a total of 11 points on the season, with nine goals and two assists.  
 
3.    Climbing up the Record Book
• Senior Jourdan Roemer recorded a natural hat trick against Manhattan moving her into a tie of fifth place on Canisius all-time goals list with 137 career tallies. The Irondequoit, N.Y., native currently sits third on the Griffs all-time points list with 227 career points. Reininger also entered the top-10 scoring list with her two-goal performance at Manhattan Friday.
 
4.    Free-Position Goals
• Canisius has made the most of its free-position opportunities this season, recording a total of 17 goals. Junior Bryar Cummings leads the team with six free-position goals followed by Roemer with three and three Griffs tied with two apiece.
 
5.    Group Effort at the Draw
• The Blue and Gold have five players with 17 or more draw controls on the season. Roemer and sophomore Marissa Malvaso have each recorded 20-plus draw controls with 24 and 21, respectively. Reininger currently has 18 draw controls on the season and sits fifth all-time with 155.
