Marist opened the game with an 11-unanswered points before sophomore Danielle Sanderlin scored the Golden Griffins first bucket of the game. Canisius would outscore the Red Foxes in the remainder of the quarter, 7-6, to make the score 17-7 heading into the second. However, Marist would keep hitting on all cylinders in the second quarter building its lead to 38-11 after outscoring Canisius 21-4 in the frame.

With the score 52-32 heading into the final frame, the Canisius offense finally found its groove going on a 15-3 run over the course the first five minutes of the quarter to make the score, 58-37. Following the media timeout, Canisius would continue to chip away at the Marist lead but it was too little too late as the Blue and Gold fell to Marist by a final score of 66-50.

Head Coach Scott Hemer's Postgame Comments
"Unfortunately, we struggled again out of the gate and never settled in until the second half, when it was too late. Until we can fix that recent trend, it will be difficult to have any consistency in terms of winning games. I am proud of their resiliency so there is certainly hope we can get this turned around before it is too late."
