With Siena leading 43-30 with 2:50 left in the third quarter, the Griffs broke off a 19-8 scoring-run that lasted eight minutes, and ended with a 3-pointer from junior Tiana Pugh to give Canisius its first lead since the opening frame. Canisius would use a 10-6 run to take a 56-54 lead with just over one-minute left in regulation. Siena's Simms found teammate Joella Gibson on a back-door pass to tie the game 56-56 with 22 seconds left, forcing Canisius to call timeout. Following the timeout, the Griffs turned the ball over but the clock would expire before Siena could score, sending the game to overtime tied at 56-56.

The Blue and Gold scored the first bucket of the extra frame and the Griffs would keep it close until Siena broke off a 13-3 run to take a commanding 71-61 lead with 1:43 left on the clock. Trailing by 10, Canisius was forced to foul Siena in the final minute and a half, which helped the Saints hang on for the win, 78-66.

Head Coach Scott Hemer's Postgame Comments
"Unfortunately, we've lacked a sense of urgency far too many times this year and tonight's game was another example. The team made a great effort in the fourth, however we need to do that right from the jump. Hopefully, that will motivate them to put forth a more consistent effort next time out."
