The Canisius men's lacrosse team travels to league-leading Quinnipiac Saturday for a 2 p.m. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at the Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
 
Scouting Canisius
• The Golden Griffins (5-6, 2-1 MAAC) turn their focus back to league play after closing out non-conference play with an 11-9 setback to No. 19 Robert Morris Tuesday at the Demske Sports Complex.
• Senior Connor Kearnan remains Canisius' top offensive threat as he leads the league in both assists (3.18) and points (5.18) per contest. Kearnan enters Saturday's contest already ranked in the program's top 10 for both categories, sitting second in assists (35) and ninth in points (57).
• Senior Steven Coss (17 g, 16 a) and sophomore Mathieu Boissonneault (26 g, 7 a) are tied for second on the team's scoring chart with 33 points. Coss ranks second on the squad in assists while Boissonneault leads the team in goals.
• Sophomore Reece Eddy highlights the team's defensive efforts as he leads the team in both ground balls (53) and caused turnovers (16). Eddy, who ranks 29th in the nation in ground balls per game (4.82), has scooped up a season-high eight ground balls in each of the last two contests.
• Senior Liam Ganzhorn has started all 11 games in goal for Canisius this season, compiling a 13.05 goals against average and a .440 save percentage in 643 minutes played. Ganzhorn recorded a season-high 13 saves in the Griffs' matchup with Robert Morris on Tuesday.
• Canisius has been one of the more efficient shooting teams in the country as it ranks sixth in the nation in shooting percentage (.357). Tuesday's matchup against Robert Morris marked the first time this season that the Griffs converted on less than 30 percent of their shot attempts on goal (.257).
 
No. 19 Robert Morris Slips Past Canisius Tuesday
• James Scane scored with 2:10 remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 9-all tie and propelled No. 19 Robert Morris to an 11-9 victory over Canisius Tuesday at the Demske Sports Complex.
• Sophomore Mathieu Boissonneault scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Golden Griffins. Sophomore Carter Stefaniak recorded a hat trick while senior Ryan McKee finished with a goal and two assists.
• Canisius saw its all-time record against Robert Morris shift to 5-6 with Tuesday's setback while the Griffs also moved to 0-2 this season against nationally-ranked competition.
• Robert Morris held a 39-35 advantage in shots attempted for the contest while Canisius posted a 29-26 in shots on goal for the contest.
• Stefaniak recorded his third hat trick of the season with his three-goal effort on Tuesday.
 • Boissonneault posted multiple assists for the third straight contest as he finished with two helpers versus the Colonials.
• Senior Liam Ganzhorn posted double-digits saves for the sixth time this season, recording a season-high 13 saves in the contest.
• Sophomore Reece Eddy tallied a season-high eight ground balls and added his third goal of the campaign during Tuesday's contest.
• Senior Blake Rickan tallied a season-high three caused turnovers on Tuesday.

Scouting Quinnipiac
• Entering Saturday's matchup alone in first place in the MAAC standings, the Bobcats (6-5, 3-0 MAAC), can secure a bid to the MAAC Championship with a win over the Griffs on Saturday.
• Quinnipiac has benefitted offensively from a three-headed attack as the team's three starters on its attack line are 1-2-3 in scoring.
• Foster Cuomo leads the team in goals (22) and points (32) while Mike Fletcher (19 g, 12a) and Jake Tomsik (17g, 14a) are tied for second in points.
• Sophomore Joe Zukauskas has seen the majority of time in goal for the Bobcats this season, starting eight of the team's 11 games played this season. He ranks among the top 20 keepers in the nation in goals against average (8.57/19th) and save percentage (.551/14th) in 462 minutes played.
 
Canisius-Quinnipiac Series Notes
• In 10 all-time meetings between the two schools, Quinnipiac holds a 7-3 advantage against Canisius.
• Since the Bobcats rejoined the MAAC prior to the 2014 season, Quinnipiac has won 3-of-5 meetings with the Griffs.
• Last season, Canisius closed out the regular season with a 10-6 victory over Quinnipiac at the Demske Sports Complex.
• The Griffs are 1-6 in road contests against the Bobcats. Canisius' lone road victory over Quinnipiac came in an 11-10 victory on April 12, 2014.
