Canisius men's lacrosse continues its season-opening road swing Tuesday when it travels to Empire State rival Binghamton for a 4 p.m. contest at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal, N.Y. 
 
Scouting Canisius
• The Golden Griffins enter Tuesday's matchup with an 0-1 record following a heartbreaking loss in their season opener at Dartmouth on Saturday that saw the Big Green score with 1.9 seconds remaining to break a 12-12 tie and post a 13-12 victory.
• Senior Ryan McKee paced the Griffs attack with a career-high five goals while sophomore Carter Stefaniak chipped in a personal-best five points on three goals and two assists.
• Senior Connor Kearnan became the 20th player in program history to reach the 100-point plateau for his career as he dished out a game-best four assists.
• Sophomore Mathieu Boissonneault his first two collegiate goals during the contest.
• Freshman Tanner Heinchon went 13-for-26 at the faceoff X and chipped in a game-high six ground balls.
• Senior keeper Liam Ganzhorn recorded double-digit saves for the 15th time in his career as he finished with 11 stops.
• Canisius thrived in man-up opportunities against Dartmouth as it was 5-for-7 with the extra man on Saturday.  
 
Scouting Binghamton
• The Bearcats head into Tuesday's home opener looking for its first win of the season after beginning the campaign with road setbacks at Syracuse (21-4) and Colgate (21-7).
• Stephen Petrelli (4g) leads a Binghamton attack that has been held to just 11 goals in its first two games this season.
• Sean Makar (3g) and Sean Gilroy (2g, 1a) are tied for second on the team's scoring chart with three points each.
• Head Coach Kevin McKeown has gone with three goaltenders in the early going as Kevin Carbone, Hunter Greco and Robert Martin have all seen action in the early going. The trio has combined for a .364 save percentage and 21.00 goals against average.
 
Canisius-Binghamton Series Notes  
• Tuesday's contest serves as the seventh meeting between Canisius and Binghamton.
• The Bearcats hold a 6-1 edge in the all-time series with Binghamton winning each of the last four matchups.
• Binghamton recorded an 11-7 victory in last season's matchup at the Demske Sports Complex on March 28. Ryan McKee paced the Griffs in that contest with three goals.
• Canisius won its only game in the series with a 12-11 victory at the Demske Sports Complex during the 2013 season.
 
Up Next
• Canisius completes its season-opening road swing when it squares off against Furman in a neutral-site contest Saturday in Philadelphia.
• The contest, slated for a Noon start, will be held at Radnor High School.
