Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Robert Morris
1. Canisius Travels to the Steel City Friday Night

• The Canisius Golden Griffins will close out the non-league portion of their 2017-18 schedule Friday night when the Blue and Gold plays at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh, Pa. The game, which will be played in the A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne University, is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. Canisius and Robert Morris will be meeting for the eighth time in series history, and for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign.

2. Griffs Getting Defensive
• Canisius starts Friday's game at Robert Morris ranked third in the MAAC (120th nationally) in scoring defense, allowing opponents an average of 69.5 points per game this season. This year marks just the third time in the last decade (including 2009-10 and 2014-15) where the Griffs' scoring defense is sub 70 points per game through the first dozen contests of the season. The 51 points allowed to Elon Dec. 19 in the team's home win over the Phoenix stands as the fewest points allowed by the Blue and Gold under second-year head coach Reggie Witherspoon

3. Crumpton Closing in on Top-20 All-Time
• Canisius senior Jermaine Crumpton will start Friday's game at Robert Morris tied for 22nd in school history in career scoring with his 1,207 points. With 14 more points, the Niagara Falls, N.Y., native will move into the top-20 in career scoring. Crumpton was good for 16 points in the win over Elon, the eighth-straight contest where he scored 10-or more points. He played his 100th career game in a Canisius uniform in that win over Elon.

4. Man of Steal
• Canisius sophomore Isaiah Reese has shown his ability on offense, but he's getting it done defensively for the Griffs as well. The Miami, Fla., native had three steals in the win over Elon Dec. 19, the fourth-straight game with multiple steals to his credit. Reese leads Canisius and ranks second in the MAAC with his 1.9 steals per game, which places him 78th in the country. He has been credited with 24 multi-steal games in his first 46 career games as a Griff.

5. Molson Ranks Among Top MAAC Rookies
• Canisius freshman Takal Molson scored 11 points in the win over Elon on Dec. 19, the fifth time this season he's post double-figures in the scoring column. The Buffalo, N.Y., native ranks third on the team in scoring average at 10.3 points per game, which also ranks him fourth among all MAAC freshmen in scoring average.
