All this week, Canisius will introduce the four female nominees for the 2015-16 Athlete of the Year Award. After all four candidates for this award are posted on Monday and Tuesday, fans will have the chance to vote on who they think will win the award in an online poll which will run on GoGriffs.com through Wednesday evening. The 2015-16 Canisius Female Athlete of the Year will be officially introduced Thursday, June 23 at noon.

Erica Evans – women's lacrosse
Canisius sophomore Erica Evans is the third nominee for the 2015-16 Canisius Female Athlete of the Year. A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Evans became the first player in MAAC women's lacrosse history to collect All-America honors when she was named to the IWLCA Third Team following her sophomore campaign.
Stats and Awards
• Evans set Canisius and MAAC records with 91 points and 72 goals during her sophomore campaign, while also leading the team with 81 draw controls, 47 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers.
• She finished the season ranked third in the country with her 72 goals (second with 3.60 goals per game) and fifth with her 91 points.
• Evans earned MAAC Midfielder of the Year honors – becoming the first player in conference history to receive the accolade twice. In addition to her IWLCA All-America honors, she was also named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Team and the All-MAAC Team for the second-straight season.
• Named MAAC Tournament MVP, while leading the Griffs to their fifth conference title in the last six years.
• Also established single-game records with eight goals versus Monmouth and 11 draw controls at Columbia.
