The visiting Canisius Golden Griffins scored two goals in the final 20 minutes of regulation and then played host Siena scoreless through two overtime periods as the two teams finished with a 3-3 draw Wednesday afternoon in Loudonville, New York. Canisius is now 7-7-2 overall and 3-3-2 in MAAC play while the Saints moved to 7-7-3 overall and 5-2-1 in conference action.
Siena scored twice in the first 6:55 of the second half to take a 3-1 lead, but the Griffs battled back with a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes to earn a point in the MAAC standings. Canisius senior Mathew Santos cut the Saints' lead to 3-2 in the 70th minute when he connected on a penalty kick. For Santos, it was his second goal of the season and it marks the first career goal via a penalty kick. The Blue and Gold was able to even the score at 3-3 in the 83rd minute of play after sophomore Alex Grattarola settled a long pass from teammate Melvin Blair and then chipped the ball over Siena goalkeeper Aleksa Radosavljevic for his third goal of the season. The assist for Blair was his fourth on the year and his second in as many games.
In the first overtime period, Canisius controlled play, recording four shots. One of those shots came in the game's 95th minute, where junior Mo Kretschmer banged one off the crossbar. In the second overtime period, neither team was able to record a shot on goal.
Siena opened the scoring in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 lead, but the Griffs answered just before intermission on a goal by junior Hakeem Milson. Milson's goal, which came in the 44th minute of play, was his third of the year.
Redshirt-junior Marco Trivellato made five stops in goal for Canisius, while Radosavljevic was credited with five saves as well.

Game Notes
• This was the 29th all-time meeting between the two teams, with Siena holding a 16-11-2 advantage in the series. In the last 15 games, Canisius is 8-6-1. • Wednesday's tie is the first in the series since Oct. 16, 1994, when the schools played to a scoreless draw at Siena. • The three goals for Canisius are the most for the Griffs in a game since Oct. 31, 2015 when the Blue and Gold beat Manhattan on the road by a score of 3-1. • Santos' penalty-kick goal is the first for a Canisius player since former Griff Chris Berardi had two penalty-kick goals at Buffalo Sept. 1, 2015. • Blair's assist gives him four points in the team's last four games.
