Senior attackman Vince Gravino became the third Canisius College men's lacrosse player selected in the Major League Lacrosse Draft on Friday afternoon when the Ohio Machine chose Gravino with the 59th overall pick.
A three-year starter with the Golden Griffins, Gravino has totaled 79 points, 55 goals and 24 assists during his career. The Westlake, Ohio native set career highs with 32 points, 21 goals and 11 assists as a sophomore in 2014, ranking second on the team in scoring as he helped lead the Griffs back to the MAAC Tournament.
Gravino joins Adam Jones and Tim Edwards as the only three Griffs to be selected in the MLL Draft. The Rochester Rattlers took Jones with the 38th pick in 2011, while Edwards was selected 41st last season by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
Gravino wraps up his collegiate career with the Griffs during the 2016 season, which is set to begin with a home contest against Boston University on March 5.
