The Canisius College men's soccer team is receiving votes in the national coaches poll for the first time in the program's history. In the NSCAA Division I National poll released on Tuesday, the Griffs earned 11 votes - the 35th-highest total in the country.
Off to the best start in the program's history, Canisius is currently 4-0-2 in 2012. The Griffs' six-game unbeaten streak is the longest in the program's history, while it's current four-game winning streak matches the program's record. The four wins this season already match the team's win total from 2011.
The Griffs are also ranked second in the NSCAA North Atlantic Poll in addition to No. 44 nationally in the Top Drawer Soccer Rankings.
The Griffs look to continue their winnings ways this weekend, playing in Las Vegas for the UNLV Nike Invitational. Canisius opens against Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
