- The Golden Griffins enter tonight's contest with wins in four of their last five games after the Blue and Gold defeated Loyola 74-68 Friday night.
- Canisius' win Friday gives the program at least one MAAC Tournament win in eight of the last 10 years and improved the team to 10-3 all-time in the first round.
- The Griffs are 2-4 all-time against the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Tournament, with the last win coming March 2, 2002, when the team beat No. 1 Rider 85-84 in overtime here in Albany, N.Y., in the quarterfinal round.
- The Griffs have not advanced to the MAAC Tournament semifinal round since 2002. That is the longest active streak in the conference.
- Siena earned the No. 1 seed in this year's event by going 23-7 overall and 16-2 in league play.

- Sophomore Greg Logins is averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per game in the Griffs' last five outings.
- Sophomore Tomas Vazquez-Simmons tied his own school record for blocks in a MAAC Tournament with five against the Greyhounds Friday night.
- Sophomore guard Robert Goldsberry has a 6.5 assist-to-turnover ratio in the team's last five games. The Griffs are 4-1 in those contests.
ABOUT THE SAINTS
- Siena enters the 2009 MAAC Tournament as the top-seeded team after the Saints posted a 23-7 mark during the regular season and a 16-2 league record.
- The Saints are led by Kenny Habrouck and his 14.8 points per game scoring average. In the two games against Canisius this season, Hasbrouck is averaging 20.5 points per game against the Griffs.
- Hasbrouck, who started the season as the MAAC's Preseason Player of the Year, was honored as the conference's Palyer of the Year Thursday night at the annual awards reception in the Times Union Center.
- Edwin Ubiles was also honored by the league's coaches as a first-team All-MAAC choice. He starts tonight's game averaging 14.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Saints.
- Combo-guard Clarence Jackson is the MAAC's 2009 Sixth Man of the Year Award winner. He averages 8.3 points per game. Against Canisius Jan. 29, in Albany, Jackson came off the bench to score 16 points in 27 minutes of action.
CANISIUS - SIENA SERIES
- Tonight's game marks the 81st time these two teams have met, with Siena holding a 44-36 lead in the all-time series.
- Siena has won seven-straight in the series, including the March 1, game at Canisius.
- This will be the seventh time these schools have played in the MAAC Tournament, with the Saints holding a 4-2 advantage.
- Canisius is 0-4 against Siena in MAAC Tournament games played in Albany, N.Y.
