Canisius College men's soccer midfielder Alan McGreal has been named second-team All-North Atlantic Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, it was announced today.

McGreal, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, is one of nine players from the MAAC to earn the honor. The freshman led the Golden Griffins with 16 points on six goals and four assists, tying for fifth in the league in points and sixth in goals. He led the MAAC in shots and tied for sixth in assists and was named the conference's Rookie of the Week three times.

McGreal was also named second-team All-MAAC and earned All-Rookie honors. The Golden Griffins finished the 2006 campaign with a 6-8-2 overall record and a 4-4-1 conference mark, good for fifth in the league.
