Team Canada Closes Out Pool Play Against England

The Canadian entry in the 2005 IFWLA World Cup drooped a pair of game over the weekend to move to 1-2 in pool play. Canisius women's lacrosse player Alana Chan (right) is a member of this year's squad, which fell to Australia and the United States in Annapolis, Md., June 24-25.

Australia scored the game's first 12 goals en route to a 17-2 win over Canada June 24. The Canadian team fell to the five-time defending champion United States squad by a 15-7 count. The United States was able to pull away with six-straight goals in the second period.

Canada will take on England June 27, at 7:30 p.m., in the final game of pool play. From there, the 10-team field will be reset into a double elimination tournament with the championship game being held July 2, on the campus of the United States Naval Academy.
