Manahattan Defeats Griffs, 11-3

BUFFALO, NY ? The Canisius College women's lacrosse team (1-8, 0-3) fell to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Manhattan College, 11-3 this afternoon at the Demske Sport Complex.

Sophomore Jamie Ottney (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca) scored two goals for the Griffs at 28:58 in the first half and 22 minutes left in the game. The first goal was asissted by Kristy Grossman (Amherst, NY/Amherst). Grossman also added seven caused turnovers and three ground balls. Lisa Barbasch (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) scored the second goal of the game at 14 minutes into the second half.
Manhattan was led by Melissa Medina and Anne Kirkby with two goals and two assists apiece.

Canisius will host Mercyhurst College Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Demske Sport Complex.
