Kara Haboian was hired as an assistant athletic trainer in August 2025. She serves as the primary trainer for the volleyball, swimming and diving and acrobatics and tumbling programs.
A product of Rochester, N.Y., Haboian joined Canisius after serving as an athletic trainer at nearby D’Youville College for the past year. With the Saints, she provided emergency care, first aid and initial evaluations for all student-athletes while assisting in event coverage coordination.
Prior to her work at D’Youville, Haboian served as an athletic trainer at Buffalo State, where she implemented and adjusted courses of treatment for student-athletes to improve therapeutic results. She also served as a research study leader at the University of Buffalo, contributing towards the writing of published articles on research conducted in the labs.
A two-time graduate of University at Buffalo, Haboian received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science before obtaining her master’s degree in athletic training.
