2005: Returned from a knee injury to play in 101 games. Ranked fifth in the MAAC and second on the team with her .295 attack percentage. Was good for double-figure kills in 11 matches, highlighted by her season-high 17 against St. Francis (Pa). Ranked third on the team with 234 kills. Was credited with 23 solo blocks and led the team with 73 block assists. Ranked third in the league in block assists. Her 73 block assists ranks third best all-time in school history for single season block assists. Posted a career-high nine block assists in the team's match against conference rival Iona. Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the second time in her collegiate career. Honored as the Canisius College Female "Comeback Player of the Year" by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. 2004: Earned a medical redshirt after injuring her knee against Texas-Arlington in the season opening match at home.
2003: Started 23 matches and played in 101 games. Was named first-team All-MAAC after her sophomore season. Also honored as an all-academic selection as well. Her .284 hitting percentage was second best on the team and ranked her eighth in the MAAC. Had double-digit kills in 17 matches. Registered a season-best 21 kills in a loss to Cornell at home. Led Canisius with 33 solo blocks and 77 block assists. Averaged 1.09 blocks per game, which ranked her second in the conference. Had a season-high eight blocks (two solos, six block assists) in a loss to Youngstown State. Her 77 block assists set a school record for block assists in a single season. Had a season-high four service aces in a win over Long Island. Had 293 kills for the second year in a row.
2002: Overcame an early season injury to play in 105 games for the Golden Griffins in her rookie season. Was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week two times (Oct. 7, and Oct. 21). Posted a career-high 22 kills in the Griffs. loss to Loyola in the first round of the MAAC Championship Tournament. Led the team with her .312 hitting percentage. Ranked third the conference in hitting percentage. Her 51 service aces led the team and ranks second all-time in school history for aces recorded in a single-season. Finished the season averaging .49 service aces per game, good enough to place her fourth overall in the MAAC. Led the Blue and Gold with 38 solo blocks and 66 block assists. Was credited with eight blocks in three different matches (vs. Niagara, Syracuse and Binghamton).
Before Canisius: Selected the Monroe County (N.Y.) Division II Player of the Year after the 2001 and 2002 season. Selected first team all-county in both 2001 and 2002. Won a silver medal at the Empire State Games in 2000 and 2001.
Personal: The daughter of Michael and Helen Launhardt, Leigh is majoring in early childhood and special education with a concentration in social studies. Serves as an officer on the Canisius College SAAC committee. Has two sisters, Ashley and Lindsey.
